The Berkshire Conference of Women Historians is to collaborate with Business History Conference. For more information, please read the information below.
Because we want to spread word of the good work being done by scholars of women, gender and sexuality, the Berkshire Conference of Women Historians is seeking to expand our connections with other associations of historians. The Business History Conference, under the guidance of its President, Mary Yeager, has invited us to co-sponsor panels at their 2015 meeting in Maimi, Florida next June 24-27. The theme of the conference is “Inequalites: Winners and Losers in Business” and the keynote speaker will be Thomas Piketty. Next year’s BHC meeting is cosponsored by the European Business History Association, offering ample opportunity for a trans-national discussion of this topic. The Call for Proposals follows can be accessed at http://www.thebhc.org/annmeet/call2015.html. Please note the many prizes and grants, was well as the student colloquium for which panelists may apply.
If you are interested in being part of one of our panels, please send Susan Yohn, President of the Berkshire Conference a one page abstract (300 word) and one-page curriculum vitae at Susan.Yohn@hofstra.edu by October 1, 2014. On our end we will “bundle” proposals and construct panels that will then be forwarded to the conference program committee.
We look forward to this being the beginning of on going collaborations with many different groups.
