Workshops

Workshops are interactive and often hands-on sessions...

designed to teach the audience something new about research, teaching, public engagement, or the broader work of historical scholarship. Topics might include but are not limited to: publishing, activist organizing, public history, pedagogy, non-academic careers, Chat GPT -- get creative!

Timing

Sessions are 90 minutes in length.

  • Workshops should have no more than 3 facilitators.
  • Facilitators should ensure that their workshop engages the audience directly; ideally, attendees should leave the session with actionable steps for incorporating the workshop material into their professional lives.

Prior to submitting, please ensure that your workshop meets the above minimum requirements and has a designated contact person.

To submit, you will need to enter into the Submission Form:

  • The designated contact person's name and email address.
  • Workshop Title
  • Workshop Abstract (200 words)
  • A/V requirements (laptops not provided)
  • For each workshop facilitator: name, email address, current occupation, title or position, institutional or business affiliation, 150-word bio that specifically speaks to the qualifications, experience, and/or expertise that make them well-suited to lead this workshop.

Submission Deadline: October 16, 2023

Questions about the submission should be directed to the 2024 Program Committee at ConferenceProgram@wawh.org.
