The Western Association of Women Historians was founded in 1969 to promote the interests of women historians who work in a variety of career paths. The WAWH does this by:

• holding annual conferences where members present scholarship and other intellectual work
• publicly promoting its members' publications, projects, and initiatives
• recognizing and honoring members’ achievements
• mentoring members at every career stage
• fostering the next generation of scholars
• creating networking opportunities

When you donate to WAWH you partner with us in accomplishing this mission.

The Operational Fund: This is the account from which WAWH draws to pay for everyday expenses -- things like administration and the technology needed to do business in the 21st century. While this fund might not sound exciting, it supports the very foundation on which WAWH functions. The organization cannot operate without the Operational Fund.

The Fund for the Future is a special account that was established in 2019 in commemoration of the 50th anniversary. It enables WAWH to: 

• provide conference travel awards to graduate students and others who are without institutional support
• pay for outstanding, inspirational keynote conference speakers
• broaden our outreach through marketing and networking opportunities apart from the annual conference

The Operational Fund and the Fund for the Future are not flashy, but dollar for dollar, they benefit and empower the greatest number of members over the course of the year.
