A Message from the President:
Times are tough. As with so many non-profit organizations, the lagging effects of the pandemic are still with us and are felt most keenly in WAWH’s operating budget. The cancellation of the 2020 conference, and subsequent lower than average conference attendance, has disrupted normal fundraising activities. Fortunately, through the generosity of previous donors, our awards and prizes are endowed for many years to come. These accounts are safeguarded, with their funds devoted solely for distribution to award winners. But two of our funds -- the Operational Fund and the Fund for the Future -- are greatly in need of replenishment at this time.
The Operational Fund is that which WAWH draws on to pay for everyday expenses -- things like administration and the technology needed to do business in the 21st century. While this fund may not sound as exciting as prizes and such, it supports the very foundation on which WAWH functions. The organization cannot operate without the Operational Fund.
The Fund for the Future is a special account that was established in 2019 in commemoration of the 50th anniversary. It enables WAWH to:
The Operational Fund and the Fund for the Future are not flashy, but dollar for dollar, they benefit and empower the greatest number of members over the course of the year.
Please consider donating to WAWH's Operational Fund and/or the Fund for the Future.
With appreciation,
Dr. Jennifer Robin Terry
President, 2023-2025
