Roundtables

Roundtable presentations are...

exciting, interactive discussions on historical, pedagogical, political, or professional issues. Unlike panel presentations, roundtable presenters do not read written papers. Instead, they share brief and focused remarks and then engage in a dynamic conversation with fellow presenters, the moderator, and the audience.

Each roundtable begins with a brief introduction by the roundtable's moderator, proceeds to the moderated conversation between presenters, and then opens up for a broader discussion with the audience.

Timing

Sessions are 90 minutes in length.

  • Each of the 4-5 presenters (in addition to the chair/moderator) should limit their individual remarks to approximately 5 minutes.
  • Cross-panel discussion should be limited to 30 minutes.
  • Remainder of time devoted to audience Q&A (WAWH audiences value this time.)

Prior to submitting, please ensure that your roundtable meets the above minimum requirements and has a designated contact person.

Do you need another participant? Check out the WAWH Collaboration Spreadsheet.

To submit, you will need to enter the following into the submission form:

  • the designated contact person's name and email address
  • roundtable title
  • roundtable abstract (200 words)
  • A/V requirements (Presenters must provide their own laptops.)
  • For each participant: name, email address, current occupation, title or position, institutional or business affiliation, 150-word bio, discussion topic (200 words).

Submission Deadline Extended: October 7, 2024

Questions about the submission process should be directed to the 2025 Program Committee at ConferenceProgram@wawh.org.
